After the independence of Pakistan, the Objective Resolution was the first document drafted to give pace to the constitution-making process. On March 7, 1949, Prime Minister Liaquat Ali Khan presented the resolution in the National Assembly of Pakistan.Out of 75 members of the National Assembly, only 21 members voted against the resolution. The resolution was adopted by the Constituent Assembly on March 12, 1949.
