In 1919, Quaid e Azam was appointed to the imperial legislative Council to represent the Muslim Community of Bombay. In 1920, Jinnah resigned from the Imperial Legislative Council to protest against the Rawala Act(Rowlett Act). The Act allowed the arrest and detain of anyone without a trial.
