The separation of Sindh from the Bombay Presidency in British India occurred on April 1, 1936. Prior to this date, the region of Sindh was part of the larger Bombay Presidency, which was one of the major administrative units of British India. The British colonial administration, in an effort to improve administrative efficiency and governance, decided to reorganize provinces and create separate entities.
